Emily Nuckolls

I grew up in northern Minnesota spending most of my free time out in the woods with my brother or playing music of various kinds with my friends and family. In high school, I became quite active in my church and developed a passion for listening to people’s stories and finding inspiration in them.

I graduated from the University of Northwestern - Saint Paul with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology 2017. After graduating, I worked as a social worker in the greater Twin Cities area; first as an advocate and skills worker and later as a case manager for people with varying levels of disability. In July of 2020, I started working as a Resident Direct at the University of Northwestern, where I now mentor and counsel students in various capacities. I am currently attending grad school at Saint Mary's University in MPLS to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

I am married to the lovely Jake Nuckolls. We have been married since January of 2018 and have enjoyed collecting plants and vinyls and books and making each other better through our years of marriage.

I found Hope Grove Church during my second year of college and was immediately captivated by the down-to-earth people who attended the church and who led the church. I felt invited to participate and be myself and deeply dive into my faith as well as continue to develop my growing passion for people and their stories. I am humbled and honored to serve at the church that Jake and I call “home.” Come talk to me; I think everyone has something of importance to bring to a conversation, and I’d love to get to know you.
