A major headliner for J. Cole's Dreamville Festival 2024, set to take place April 6-7 at Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh, was announced this week.

Grammy-nominated rapper Nicki Minaj made the announcement Monday on her official Instagram account.

The Dreamville Festival, like the Dreamville brand, has grown exponentially since the first festival was held in 2019.

Rather than one day, the festival now covers two. Around 100,000 attendees traveling from all 50 states and 14 countries converged on Raleigh to celebrate Dreamville Weekend 2023.

J. Cole, who grew up in Fayetteville, and the Dreamville team typically announce their performance lineup closer to the festival date. However, Minaj announced her scheduled April 7 appearance at Dreamville as part of a list of tour dates.

Nicki Minaj, shown here in a handout photo from MTV, will perform at J. Cole's Dreamville Festival in Raleigh in April.

“BARBZZZ!!! It’s time for the #GagCity TOUR. So excited to see you guys!!! Presale this week and tickets available FRIDAY,” Minaj posted Monday on her official Instagram account.

Just three days before her tour announcement, the Queens rapper released her fifth studio album, Pink Friday 2. According to her schedule, Minaj is slated to perform at the Dreamville Festival on April 7.

Minaj’s labelmates Drake and Lil’ Wayne have both performed at the sold-out festival in the past. Lil Wayne joined Atlanta natives T.I. and Jeezy for a Gangsta Grillz set hosted by DJ Drama during Dreamville 2022, then joined Drake on his headlining set with the festival’s co-founder.

Minaj recently featured Cole on her new song “Let Me Calm Down” from the Pink Friday 2 project. Cole and Minaj will be on tour during the first quarter of the year. Cole will accompany Drake on the It’s All A Blur Tour-Big As The What?, starting Jan. 19, (just nine days before Cole’s birthday) and ending just weeks before the Dreamville Festival.

Just as Cole and Drake’s tour ends, Minaj will be hitting the road for the Pink Friday 2 World Tour, which starts March 1 in Oakland.

J. Cole performs during Dreamville Festival at Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh on Sunday, April 2, 2023.

Tickets for the Dreamville Festival start at $299.99 and are available now on dreamvillefest.com.
