A well-known Robeson County queen takes the stage for a drag show in downtown Fayetteville this weekend.

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” season three competitor Stacy Layne Matthews performs at 1 p.m. Saturday at The Sip Room, 106 Hay St.

The self-proclaimed “country queen” is known for popularizing the word “henny,” an alternative pronunciation of honey often used as a nickname. She is the “drag mother” to queen Tatianna Matthews, who frequently performs in Carolina Drag Brunch shows at Gaston Brewing Taproom in Fayetteville.

"Rupaul's Drag Race" star Stacy Layne Matthews, a Robeson County native, performs Saturday at The Sip Room in Fayetteville.

Durham-based queen Naomi Dix hosts the Saturday show. Raleigh-based queen Alexa Van Cartier is also set to perform.

The event is in celebration of The Sip Room’s second anniversary.

Tickets, which include brunch, are $45 and can be purchased on Eventbrite
