J. Cole's dad watches his son perform at Dreamville Festival
RALEIGH — As audience members were awaiting J.Cole’s performance to close out his second Dreamville Festival in Raleigh on Sunday, some in the front row had their attention on another man.
J.Cole’s dad, James Cole, was in the crowd talking and taking photos with some people lucky enough to grab a front-row spot at the Shine stage at Dorothea Dix Park.
With so many people asking to get a photo with him, he said he felt like a celebrity.
James Cole, who said he was attending the Dreamville Festival for the first time, described the enjoyment of seeing his son put the festival together in two words: “it’s great.”

James Cole got nostalgic while speaking to a Fayetteville Observer reporter about Fayetteville.
Although he said he had not been in the city for five years, he still had friends from his time stationed at Fort Bragg who he likes to visit.
He said if there’s one thing he really misses in Fayetteville, it would be Rick’s Lounge, a Hay Street strip club that closed in 1995.
