WINSTON-SALEM — A new NCHSAA postseason setup has given high school basketball its own Final Four feel, with all finals and semifinals for each of four state titles being played at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum on the campus of Wake Forest University.

As a result, we have NCHSAA Championship Friday on March 15 when the 1A and 3A boys’ and girls' state championships will be decided.

Fayetteville has two teams in the mix for 3-A titles. On Tuesday, No. 3 Terry Sanford girls defeated No. 1 South Central 58-50 to claim the 3A East title, while No. 4 Seventy-First ran away 63-44 with the win over No. 2 Westover in the 3A East championship for the boys, marking their second regional title in three years.

Terry Sanford will play as the visitors and is set to face the 3A defending champion West Rowan at 3:30 p.m. The Seventy-First boys will face off at 8:30 p.m. against the 3A defending state champion Central Cabarrus, which is on a 64-game win streak dating back to last season.
