I grew up in South St. Paul, MN and attended Luther College in Decorah, IA. I graduated with a double major in German and Religion. My original plan after college was to obtain my Master’s of Divinity degree and be a hospice chaplain. As I’ve experienced and lived more life, I now realize that I want to be an Occupational Therapist and am hoping to attend St. Catherine’s University to obtain a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
I began attending Hope Grove Church in the summer of 2011 with my husband Troy. We have been married since 2004 and have four children, a dog, a cat and some fish. In addition to being a homemaker, I work part-time as a Special Education Paraeducator in the CID (Communication Interaction Disorders) room at Castle Elementary School in Oakdale.
When I’m not managing the household or working at school, I try to find time to do things that feed my soul. These include: quiet times with God, spending time with family and friends, walking, group fitness classes at the YMCA, reading, listening to music, and laughing (I love to laugh!).
I firmly believe that it takes a village to get through life. Hope Grove has become my village and I am so incredibly thankful to be a part of this community! I have served in a variety of areas at Hope Grove and am looking forward to using my education and life experiences to continue God’s work, now as a board member.
