Marilyn Diane Moon Martin, 74, of Tar Heel, NC went to her eternal home on Friday, March 15, 2024, while at the Lower Life Care (Angel House) in Whiteville, NC. She was born on November 25, 1949, daughter of the late James Moon Jr. and Fern Say Moon.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Martin (James Barron) of Tar Heel, one brother James H. Moon II of Minnesota, two sisters, Kathy Bordeaux of Elizabethtown and Judy Johnson (Gordy) of Minnesota, and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was a loving mother, sister, and aunt. She simply adored her daughter and always made sure she was there for anything she may need. She enjoyed making her laugh and creating special moments, especially at Christmas time. Her daughter remembers fondly the times she allowed her to help make “special” biscuits for her dad. Marilyn was a hard-working lady with a generous spirit and a heart full of love. Whenever she did for others she never expected or wanted any praise. She had a beautiful voice and a gift for sewing. She will always be remembered for putting others’ needs before her own and showing genuine love to everyone.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Beth Car Presbyterian Church in Tar Heel followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm with the Reverend Johnny Simpson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Lower Cape Fear Life Care Center at 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC 28472.
