Betty Lou McLaurin, 76, earned her angel wings on March 16, 2024, with her family by her side. She is survived by her husband, Wayne; daughter, Tonya; son, Ryan; son-in-law, Kenneth Page, daughter-in-law, Stephanie McLaurin; granddaughters, Hannah, Rylan, Madison; grandsons, Tyler, Shane, Nicklaus; and a wide circle of loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Stella Mitchell.

Betty was born in Bristol, Tennessee moved to Massey Hill in Fayetteville NC as a teenager and eventually made her final home in Stedman, NC. She graduated from Massey High School, and she earned an associate’s degree in business. She worked at the Department of Social Services and then stayed home as a homemaker and helped as a care giver for her grandchildren. Betty and Wayne would have been married for 60 years in August.

Beyond her professional achievements, Betty found joy in the simple pleasures of life – making quilts, crocheting hats for cancer patients, bird watching and loved the blue birds and cardinals, traveling to Disney World with her family, camping, fishing, trips to Knoxville and Gatlinburg, TN and spending time with her family and friends. She loved generously and warmly and was loved by many.

A service to honor and celebrate Betty's life will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Jesus First Church at 7467 Camden Road, Fayetteville, N.C. Visitation is from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., followed by the service at 3:00 p.m.

The family extends their gratitude for the love and support received during this time.
